About Bowl for Hunger: Our Story and Mission

Fifteen years ago, Speaker of the General Assembly Craig J. Coughlin, the Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Middlesex Water Company, and Hackensack Meridian Health united in a powerful mission: to support those in need within our communities.

Together, they launched Bowl for Hunger, an initiative dedicated to aiding the food pantries serving Carteret, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, South Amboy, and Woodbridge.

Our food pantries play a crucial role in providing essential support to individuals and families facing food insecurity, offering not just groceries but access to nutritious foods that might otherwise be out of reach. Since its inception, Bowl for Hunger has been a beacon of hope, raising over $220,000 for the 30 food pantries across the 19th legislative district.

As we mark this significant milestone, we reflect on the impact of our collective efforts and the lives touched through our ongoing commitment to combating hunger. Join us as we celebrate 15 years of compassion, community, and change-making, and stay tuned for exciting updates as we continue our journey to make a difference.

Thank you for standing with us in the fight against hunger.
